This is gonna be a long rant, but I think I just needed to vent today.
We were with an old clinic for almost a year and dealt with poor service, missed timed intercourse cycles, and a failed IUI due to our doctor’s carelessness, which, btw, we paid for and can’t get refunded.
So earlier this year, we decided to switch clinics. We had to wait 6 months before our appointment. We’re two cycles in, both negative. But what sucks is that we actually really like our doctor this time around. Then we were blindsided and found out that he’ll be gone for a vacation and we won’t be able to meet with him for the next three to four months.
I know that in the grand scheme of things, three months is a short wait compared to us trying for five years without help. But I’m just so heartbroken that we have to temporarily stop our treatments. They don’t want to revise our plan until we meet with our doctor, and they can’t switch us to another one because the other doctors are also full.
It just feels like my time is running out. Relatives, friends, and colleagues are having their second and third babies, and I’m just here begging for one. I know comparison is a thief of joy but I can’t help it. I just can’t. I am ready to become a mama and I feel so guilt that I can’t make my husband a father. He is literally the nicest, bestest person in the world and I am sure he is gonna be a great dad. He has been very very supportive throughout this process and is doing everything he could to be healthy.
Sorry for dampening the mood, but today it just really hit me that infertility is gnawing at my insides, and right now, I don’t really see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Working on a project with a colleague, and during our meeting she casually said, “I’ll try to get everything done before I start my mat leave.”
So anyway, looks like I’m about to inherit a lot more work. And still no baby.
And of course this happened on the same day I got my negative blood test. Love that for me 🫠🫠🫠
