Hiring: Part-Time Community Engagement / Instagram Growth Assistant (Remote, Long-Term)

Hi everyone! We’re looking for someone to help grow the Instagram and Facebook presence for a women’s nonprofit organization based in California focused on supporting women rebuilding their lives after homelessness, addiction, and trauma.

Important:
This is NOT a content creation role.

We already have someone creating the posts, reels, stories, graphics, and visual content. We are specifically looking for someone focused on community engagement and account growth.

Your role would involve:

  • Responding to comments and DMs in a warm, natural, human tone
  • Engaging with relevant community accounts daily
  • Reaching out to micro influencers, collaborators, nonprofits, and local creators
  • Helping increase authentic engagement and visibility
  • Building relationships and helping the account feel active and connected
  • Participating in brainstorming conversations with the team so messaging and strategy stay aligned

We are NOT looking for:

  • generic social media managers
  • agencies
  • people who only know how to make content aesthetically pleasing
  • fake engagement strategies or follower-buying tactics

We ARE looking for someone who:

  • genuinely understands Instagram culture, tone, slang, and online behavior
  • has strong written English and emotional intelligence
  • understands how to organically grow engagement and community
  • is proactive and willing to take initiative
  • can show proof of helping grow accounts through engagement/outreach/community-building

If you’ve helped grow another account before, please share:

  • the account(s)
  • what your actual responsibilities were
  • measurable results if possible
  • what strategies specifically worked

  1. A short introduction
  2. Examples of accounts you’ve helped grow
  3. Your favorite brand or creator account on Instagram right now and WHY you think it performs well
  4. Write a sample response to this comment: “This organization is doing amazing work for women ❤️”
  5. One idea you would try within the first month to help grow a nonprofit/community-focused account organically

Pay:
Starting around $6–12/hr depending on experience and proven results, with room for increases and bonuses for exceptional work and initiative.

Please do not apply if you are part of a large agency or outsourcing team. We’re looking for one thoughtful, reliable person we can build a long-term relationship with.
