Pilates, Yoga, & Wheels πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈβ™ΏοΈ (51f) + Question

I'm beat. πŸ˜… May be time to take a break from... something. I mean I need the wheels to get around so it can't be that one. 😝

Do you do rest days?

If so how often and what do they look like?

Saturday Pilates & Wheels ♿️ (51f)

Total body Pilates and I had better form and only only rested once during legs & booty πŸ€ͺ. Next time I'll push through without that 30 sec. break. Next was 2 miles on wheels ♿️ and I'm feeling pretty good and lively.

Tomorrow is Kundalini Yoga (and later wheels), and I'm already looking forward to that. Happy workouts to you all and hope you're having a good weekend!

Feeling progress but a long way yet to go ♿️ (51f)

So, I've been trying to stay somewhat in shape for years with varying results. This past May i decided to be a bit more serious about it... and a month or so later got medical care for my heart and was put on heart medication.

Now I can push myself a lot harder than I could before, and I love it! We don't have gym access here in the new place so I work out in the living room. Also, I spend a more time outdoors on wheels ♿️ so I have to keep my core body strong.

I still have a fair bit of fat - which is really apparent in my back especially-, but these last few days (both sets of images are since Sunday) I've started to really feel the difference in my overall strength and flexibility. I can see the changes... even if nobody else can yet πŸ˜…

As my practice becomes more consistent I'm becoming more confident in my ability to change.

When you started consistently working out could you see the physical changes to your body before those around you could?

Have a good one and happy workouts to you! ✨️

Fairly Accessible Bathroom ♿️

I adore all the new wheelchair, and old πŸ₯° wheelchair posts... but I'm really interested in the day to day of life on wheels.

How are you making your space accessible or what do you wish you could change?

This is our bathroom and the lovely folks at the apartment put in 3 bars to help me. We bought the black one on the bathtub from a drug store and I can't use the shower without it.

I've found that a simple bath mat keeps my seat dry and is cozy to transfer back into.

After shower I lift my wooden bath bench back out, hang up the bath mat (pop it in laundry when is towel & linen day), and wipe down my handrims with Clorox wipes.

Before this apartment i had to have help with transfers and help showering--- this is an incredible luxury now that I don't take for granted.

What i wish I could change is the height of the mirror, and the entire flipping kitchen. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ We can't have everything though and I'm really grateful for my quasi-accessible bathroom.

Pilates + Wheels ♿️ (51f)

I've been sick as can be but I'm back to it!

After this i did over a mile on wheels πŸŒ²β™ΏοΈ. In backwards order 😝 lol...happy after Pilates, Kiko was my workout buddy today, yay mat time, spread that sucker out, time to unroll!

Have a great day and happy workouts to you!

Kundalini Yoga πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ ♿️

Finally added seated Kundalini Yoga back into my life today! Can't stop smiling and my furry workout & yoga buddy chatted the entire way through *grin* 🐈

I'm looking for accessible seated Kundalini videos, books, or websites in case any of you lovely folks have suggestions. πŸͺ·

If yoga is part of your life and practice what are the types you gravitate toward or are most drawn to?

Back up 1-3 miles on wheels ♿️ per day and have steadily increased Pilates & yoga practices daily as well. Next up will be meditation-- which i struggle with.

I'm off to clean the bathroom, listen to Dungeon Crawler Carl, and have a glass of champagne. You know balance in all things. 😜

Have a great day and happy workouts to you no matter what they may be!

Hello August! Happy Workouts Everyone! (51f) ♿️

Busy flippin' day here... but i welcomed the month with a workout anyway! I'll be on wheels outside on 5 acres at the birthday party for a friend- so we'll see how i do with that. πŸ˜…πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸŒ²β™ΏοΈ

Oh! Last month I learned that of i focused on butt & thigh mat workouts on days I would be on wheels πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ¦½for 6 or more hours i felt a LOT better at the end of the day. My guess is that in kind or starting to rebalance my body a bit. I've pretty much been on wheels for like 15(+) years.

A little Pilates a little yoga and a woman in need of a shower lol. I'm off to do just that--- have a good one! πŸ’–

July Progress πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ¦½ (51f)

I'm not up to 5 mi. at a go on wheels, but getting stronger daily. Added Pilates and beginner yoga πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ back into my life and it's really helping with both strength and confidence.

Next week I'm going to try beginning Kundalini Yoga again and am pretty thrilled about that.

Have a lovely day, may you meet your goals, and have a terrific workout! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Is User Flair Broken?

I'm not doing "pants on fire," nor, "bro is Thor, " ... though the last one is pretty great! 🀣

For real though is there anyway we can fix this and choose from a few or write our own? πŸ€—

Birthday on wheels (51f)

So, I looked like a dumb ass in all of these, but they're real so there you go πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ.

I did not reach my goal of 5 miles at one stretch on wheels by my 51st birthday- in fact I backslid rather a lot. Health and life got a bit convoluted and I'm disappointed in myself. Feeling that failure today... but I'll get over it.

Just finished a little over 2 miles ♿️ out it went great and I know I'll be strong enough to double that soon.

Hope your day is beautiful and your workouts are good ones! ✨️

Setbacks but still rolling (f 50 ♿️)

So, my birthday is in like 2 weeks and I'll be 51. My goal was 5 miles by that day, and I was well on the way. We were easily up to 4 with the guys walking and me rolling.

However, the last week or so we've only taken short 2 mile trips out and I feel like I've back slid a great deal. I'm not changing the goal but I really want to prove to myself I can still do this. Anyway, life on wheels it's always rolling along lol/ sigh

Have a good one! ✨️

πŸŽ† Happy 4th! ♿️ (50f) πŸŽ†

I'll be 51 in a few weeks and I'm not yet to my goal of 5 miles at a stretch on wheels. I've done 4 miles several times lately but just haven't got that 5m goal. Today was a just over 1.5 miles but even a little workout is better than none!

Truth be told I'm not sure why I set that particular goal post πŸ€”... and what will be next after it. I think I've felt powerless for too long and I just want to be more proactive and part of the world.

Now, finally have medical help (and support) for a faulty heart so strength, fitness, and everything associated seems within my grasp.

Thanks to those here that post, comment, and encourage each other it helps with both accountability and appreciation!

How do you craft your fitness goals? How do adapt and change them once you've met them?

Have a lovely and safe holiday and happy workouts! πŸŽ‡

Have a good one! β˜€οΈβ™ΏοΈ

Mid freaking 90's outside but we got it done anyway. Goal is 5 miles on wheels by end of July when i turn 51...and I really think we (husband, and kid walking, me wheeling ♿️) may have to up that goal! We're doing at least 1 mile a day and can easily do 4 now. Feels fantastic to know every day we're out we're building strength and endurance! πŸ’ͺ🏻

u/ForeverNuka β€” 2 months ago

4 miles on wheels today! β˜€οΈβ™ΏοΈ (50f)

We're trying to get to 5 miles by my 51st birthday next month. Today husband and son walked and I rolled 4 freaking miles. It doesn't sound like much but when I spent years ill, with a heart problem, and barely able to get around this feels almost magical. Have a lovely day... i certainly am. ✨️😌

Still working toward goal of 5 miles on wheels πŸŒ²β™ΏοΈ (50 f)

The other day we did a trail that was new to us and while we only did 2 miles they were some challenging and fun miles! The roots of giant trees, a river running next to the trail, bridges, and erosion added up to a satisfying workout.

Goal is still 5 miles by 51st birthday in July... and while we've been up to 4 we're not consistently there yet. Getting closer though. 🌿πŸ’ͺ🏻

Progress

Solid month of workouts and I can feel the difference daily. My workouts are a bit unusual for some as they consist of how many miles I can wheel ♿️ myself, minutes I can wobble on sticks, and (trying to) get(ting) into a more regular Pilates practice. This past week we did 13.5 miles with and my goal is 5 miles on wheels at a stretch by my 51st birthday in July. I have a bit to go but this week we'll be up to 4 miles at a time and progress feels good.

u/ForeverNuka β€” 3 months ago

πŸ’ͺ🏻 3 miles today! ♿️ (50f)

While I used to be able to easily do 5 miles on wheels with no problem... I'm nowhere close to strong enough for that yet. Goals. Last week i got up to 1.5 miles twice. Today doing 3 miles out with my husband and son feels like real and quantifiable progress. Keep showing up 😊. Happy weekend workouts to you all! ✨️

Pilates kicked my abs... at least i think so I can't see them yet. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜ (50f)

Had to share a little playful spirit today as I'm feeling this warmer weather and sunshine 🌞. I was out on wheels ♿️ with my guys in the morning and then did a workout this afternoon. Never could i do both but recently got some help for a heart arrhythmia and it's really opened up the possibilities of fitness progress. Pilates destroyed me today and I'm thrilled to bits to be feeling like I can push myself again!
