Worried for Future
I've been hella anxious for our future, especially with the news of Wright (tho I saw that coming a mile away). This fear is brought about by the fact of the big glaring issue the NHL refuses to acknowledge, and the fact Washington just passed a harsh tax on millionaires (there's others as well but these are the big points) we are going to continue to see players reject to come here because we are officially the worst state to play a major league sport in because of the tax. On top of that half the fans are just in the camp of "oh I'm just happy we have a team." And the other half say "we have no identity" Sports teams need to be competitive, I'm not so worried about like the next 5 years (ik were going to continue to not be a great team) its more so the long term. I hate to both get invested in a team and see it leave in the next 15-20 yrs cuz no one wants to be here. Granted I am just a stressed transfer fan, but I see shit like this rn going on with the kraken and I only see an expos or an A's situation happening from here on.
I'm not looking for a fix or an immediate impact or answer just looking to see if there are other in the same boat or anyone with a counterpoint to all of this cuz "erm actually ur dumb for this reason..." Etc.
I love this team, I've been invested sense the start when I was still in Chicago. I care a lot about this team. And ik a lot of y'all do too.
