honoring the void-of-course when doing work

How many of you honor the void-of-course, and don't do any ritual or spellwork during VoC?

To me, it seems the logical thing, as it's putting work and energy out there that won't be met with the same intensity in return.

But this can become problematic when you want to do a spell where planetary alignment and day falls perfectly, but the VoC runs through it.... like this upcoming VoC goes from later tonight through Saturday morning EDT. This has put a damper on my plans for Friday night spellwork.

Curious how many of you honor the VoC, or if you work around it in some way?

making our shellwork/herb use safer for our feline familiars

After seeing a recent post about a cat drinking moon water off an altar (aww!), and also running into some herb use limitations myself in a ritual due to toxicity with cats, I'm curious how we all keep our practices safe for our feline familiars!

For me, I was looking to start a money bowl, but cinnamon sticks are often recommended here, and since this is not enclosed like a sweetening jar, I checked: apparently, cinnamon is highly toxic to cats. I plan to adapt this intuitively, in the moment of ritual, and I trust my intention and intuition enough that whatever substitute I make will work.

What kinds of swaps or changes have you made to your craft because of your feline familiar? Is there any work you won't do because of your family—e.g., incense, candles, essential oils, some herbs (like above), or anything else?

Edit: the subject should obviously be spellwork, but autocorrect likes seashells.

love binding spell after reconciliation spell?

My partner and I are having some rough times, though we agreed to cool down, work on ourselves, and speak in a few months.

I have done a reconciliation spell, and the new moon last week saw me start working on myself with self-love and healing work.

But I'm curious if a love binding spell would be useful, and if anyone can share a good spell that worked for them personally?

what kind of music do you listen to for meditation, spellwork, ritual, etc.?

Happy new Taurus moon, witches!

For those of us who like to meditate and work with music in the background, I'm curious what you listen to or if you care to share links to your playlists?

Lately, I've been partial to instrumental witch/Celtic playlists found via Spotify.

I'm curious what others listen to—either for meditating, ritual work, spellwork, or other—as music definitely influences our magnetic fields, so I'm eager to listen to other suggestions in the thread below!

Will we get back together?

https://preview.redd.it/5eethb87eq0h1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6851ed0a6cad126f9bde4213489abdbda3ed6d2a

I'm a Tarot newbie, so my best interpretation of my partner and I who are separated and currently not speaking as we each take time...

We're both male, but there's a lot of female energy here. I interpret this to be aligned more with me as a Cancer than him (Aquarius).

Queen of Swords: literally facing the Knight, but calmly as he races and rushes toward her. Her hand is outstretched, welcoming him, but her calmness and his haste seem at odds.

Knight of Swords: He seems all gung-ho, but if this card is meant to represent him, he's more ambivalent about his emotions and would never rush into something. So I'm confused by this.

Queen of Pentacles: I know pentacles are about finances and future security, so as the Queen here seems to be attending, I see this as growth, nurturing, and a positive outcome after perhaps some turbulence in the first two cards.

Interesting: Queens and Swords so prevalent here.

Any help to interpret this would be appreciated!

looking to organize a group of dedicated baby witches as we learn and grow

First, I hope this is allowed. If not, my sincere apologies mods.

I'm looking to organize a beginner's group of witches who are either totally new to the craft or returning after some time and feel like they're totally new to the craft. (The latter would be me!)

I'm finding resources to be so overwhelming that it's hard to hone them down, see what I should be focusing and working on, etc. I suspect there are others in this position, so I hope a group of baby witches in a similar stage of practice might be able to help each other out.

The way I see it is perhaps we could share what we're doing, have weekly (or some other determined) check-ins, maybe via a WhatsApp group or similar, and recommend books to read or exercises/meditations/resources.

I would just ask that those who might wish to be part of this are serious, by which I mean you realize that witchcraft takes work and practice, and you're not just in it for personal gain, a quick fix spell, but see it as a lifestyle and calling.

Feel free to comment below or also DM me.

After snuffing 7-day candle spell for safety, do I have to recast when I re-light?

Greetings, fellow witches!

As someone who is getting back to the craft after many moons, I'm curious about spell work and whether intention needs to be recast daily or not.

For my specific situation: I cast a reconciliation spell, with written petition under candles bound together. These are 7-day candles, and I'm practicing fire safety, so I'm only letting these burn when I'm present and usually during 45-minute or so meditations in the evenings.

Before I sit down and before I light the candles again, I do hold the intention in mind and utter some words (sometimes only mentally) before lighting and meditating. I wonder if this is enough.

Or is the spell working even when the candles are put out due to fire safety? Do I not need to do anything special when I re-light them daily, as described above?

Thanks, and blessed be!

Edit: typo

Recommendation for online courses for beginners

Greetings all!

As a witch who took two or so decades off and looking to get back to practices by the basics, I found A Witch's Primer course (midway through this website), but sadly it looks like the links on the page are all broken.

The idea of an 18-week online video course like that seems really useful to me at this stage.

Does anyone have any other recommendations or know what I might be doing incorrectly on this website?

I'm ideally looking to begin with grounding, clearing, and energy body work. I have a hard time feeling energy in the body, so I know I'll need to work on this before I move on to spell work.

I have looked at the book rec wiki here, and I have Psychic Witch coming in the mail!

Many thanks!
