My first LMP2 race! I’m converted!!!
Ive been driving gt3s exclusively since i picked up LMU last year. Today I said “ahh why not” and threw myself into the daily race at imola in the P2. Did about 4 laps in practice and instantly thought.. this feels incredible (even tho I only managed a 1:37 xx)
Then it was time for 5 laps of quali.. (SPLIT 2 of 3). My plan was to chill for 3 laps, put in 1 safety push lap and then really go for it. After crossing the line for my final push lap, by my surprise I ended up with a 1.33.4 which put me p2!!! (The lap before was a 1.34.8 and was in 18th). P1 was also 1.33.4 so naturally I got very excited about the possibility of my first win!

I’ve never been so slow to turn off the pit limiter lol I went from 2nd to 11th before t1!!! xD
Now to cut an already too long a story short, I went from 2nd to 11th, to 5th, to 18th, to finally a DNF with 1 lap to go. I had the pace, but 0 consistency as it was my first race BUT. I loved it and I WILL BE BACK!!!
I’m also now very looking forward to the hypers
