My take on a cooling mod for the GameSir G8 (PETG mount + Memo CX16)
I’ve seen some cool ideas floating around here on how to add active cooling to the GameSir G8, so I decided to design my own take on it and wanted to share the results.
As we all know, the G8's central bridge completely blocks the back of the phone. Since I run heavy games and emulation, thermal throttling was getting really annoying.
The setup:
I modeled a custom mount that elevates the phone at a 30-degree angle. After testing a bit, I found this angle is super comfortable for your wrists during long sessions, and the viewing angle is great. Best part: it leaves the back of the phone 100% exposed so the Peltier cooler touches the glass directly.
Build details:
Material: Printed in Sunlu PETG. (Don't use PLA, the hot side of the cooler will melt/warp it).
Cooler: Memo CX16 (15W). Keeps things freezing cold but won't drain a powerbank instantly.
Cable: A 90-degree flat FPC USB-C extension cable. It routes super clean behind the printed mount, doesn't stress the phone's charging port, and there's zero input lag
Power: I'm using a 5000mAh UGREEN power bank to power the cooler. It fits perfectly in the setup and keeps it fully portable.
I uploaded the STLs to both Printables and Creality Cloud if anyone wants to give this option a try. Let me know what you guys think!
