Grad plus loan games.

I know this isn’t exactly directly tied to va benefits but so many of us are in school so i figured id post to this forum as well.

Is anyone else’s financial aid office playing games with grad plus loans? I started my program about a month ago. Did all the counseling/mpn, they attached grad plus to my financial aid plan. All this took me dragging them along because half the time i called they would tell me i’m not eligible, then i call other times and tell me i am. They “lost” my mpn multiple times and i had to do it three times. This all took weeks but eventually got grad plus approved, a few days ago i receive an updated financial aid offer spreadsheet and they took off the grad plus. I call the morning i received this and they tell me they would call me that later that day. they never did.

If a refresher on the stipulations is needed i’ll attach the guidelines verbatim as well from student.gov

“Note: Starting July 1, 2026, Direct PLUS
Loans are no longer available to graduate or professional students unless you qualify for the limited exception. To qualify, you must have been enrolled in your program of study as of June 30, 2026, borrowed a Direct Loan for that program prior to July 1, 2026, and remain continuously enrolled in the same program at the same school.”

I appear to clearly meet both stipulations, in fact my first class for this program would end before the july 1 deadline. Has anyone had recent experiences taking out grad plus before the deadline?
