Surgical adhesive reaction

Surgical adhesive reaction

I had a hysterectomy last week and have 6 incisions in my abdominal area. I informed the hospital that I have a known allergy to adhesives and requested they use glue only for my incisions. When I woke up, I found that they used glue on all of them but “reinforced” a bleeder with a bandaid of some sort. I took it off, but the damage was done. The area is horribly itchy, raised, red, and weeps uncontrollably. It just drips nonstop. Neosporin and gauze have not helped. Anything else I can put on this to help the healing process?

Can’t feel cuff at all?

I’m 4dpo and it occurred to me that I have no indication of my cuff at all. I have plenty of abdominal pain but absolutely zero indication anything occurred inside the vagina. I’m slightly worried he forgot to remove the cervix. Kidding, kind of.
Is that weird that I have no pain or any different feeling there?

Anyone have an indented incision?

4 dpo and still miserable here. 😭
Am curious if anyone else has a really indented scar. It looks like I have a second belly button. Doctor said it was due to an extra stitch he put in to avoid a hernia. Can someone explain?

Surgery day was horrible

Surgery was yesterday afternoon and if I had any idea how awful it would be, I would have second guessed my choice.

Surgery itself went well. However the pain could not be controlled. I was pumped full of several drugs which helped somewhat but then made me so dizzy I couldn’t get up. After several hours in recovery with uncontrolled pain, the decision was to admit me overnight.

12 hours after surgery I still hadn’t peed or been able to get out of bed. We tried 3 times and every time I sat or stood the pain was so intense and my blood pressure bottomed out and I would nearly pass out so I had to lay back down quickly.

Finally around midnight I was able to get up and pee and have done so one more time since then. But this pain at my incision sites is so bad. I’m laying completely flat because sitting up is impossible.

Is this normal? I just want to go home but that is not happening in my current state.

30 hours out. Give me tips.

I have about 30 hours until surgery. What are some things I can do today to help prepare me for anesthesia (I get very sick) and recovery?
I’m a glp1 user and stopped my shots a week ago as instructed, but still want to ensure my stomach is empty and there’s no risk of aspiration during surgery.

Besides soft foods and lots of water, what else can I do?

I’m dying to remember the title of a book I read in high school in 2003 or so. I was in a high school class called “Great Books” so it must be a book that has won an award or something well known. All I remember is there was a black woman who was a maid or a housekeeper for a white family. I believe she lived with the family. I think she had a son and he also lived with them. I believe he was accused of some sort of crime? I don’t remember the plot at all, other than the black vs white aspect. There was a lot of meaning behind snow in this book. At one time the black boy was face to face with a white boy with a sheet of snow between them. I also remember something with a skateboard. Can anyone help?
