Financial/Childcare Advice Needed As I Consider a Promotion

Last week my boss approached me about taking on a C-suite position that would be life-changing. My salary *could* increase (a minor bump comes with the promotion) but if I'm successful I could bump it much higher, I would just need to kick ass my first year. The thing is that my toddler is turning 2 and was going to transition from a neighborhood small group nanny share (3:1) to a bigger childcare setting that is so much more affordable but way less flexible and I was expecting to be sick all next year and need to take a lot of time off. I live in a VHCOL area and there are not any childcare slots at a small ratio preschool or childcare centers until Aug 2027. The cost of a nanny is as much as rent and I would have to dip into savings to make it work but it would give me the best flexibility possible and I would have a solid 8 months of being able to do as much as I can in the new position. I don't have any family that can pitch in and I caretake for an elderly parent. TLDR: Is it smart to go into the hole financially so I have a better chance of a career opportunity that might set me up for bigger financial gain in the future?

Who’s playing this live show?

Listening in from the corner of Talmage/ Prospect and we like it a lot but it’s faint and I can’t make out any details. Anyone in the know wish to share? Who? Where? Why or why not?
