Mr. Hobby Semi Gloss

I’ve seen questions on how far a 37 ml can can go. For me it covered a HG Quebeley, MG Quebeley, and a MG Tallgeese Fluegel but it was running on fumes on the second coat for the last kit.

I like semi-gloss but this gets expensive. I’ll stick to the Bosny 191 for most kits moving forward.

Currently in Japan and was fitting this in Kobe when a 5.7 magnitude quake hit Nara.

As the quake went on everyone on the floor stayed still. If the shaking got more violent then we would have ran for the exits but we are glad it only went on for 10+ seconds. When it passed the AD calmly used Google Translate to assure me that earthquakes are common in the country and that all are fine.

This is my first Tudor watch and I’ve wanted this matte navy blue for a long time. Tudor discontinuing this and the earthquake sealed the deal for me.

An RG build for a HG price.

Just finished the Percival. I got this for just about USD16.00 where I’m from.

Lots of under gated parts and I had to address some few but minor fit issues that required some sanding and gluing. Also not a fan of sharp pieces (my fingers hurt now) and the joints feel tight so I won’t change the pose every few months like what I do with some of my favorite Bandai kits but overall it’s a unique and enjoyable build. It was a pleasure to panel line and the details from the extensive parts separation is amazing, which makes the water slide decals that it came unnecessary. This non-Bandai kit also forced me to pay closer attention to the build, which I haven’t done in a while given how familiar we can get with Bandai’s plastic. It felt a bit like building a kit for the first time.

Not sure what would be the best top coat for this though. I’m thinking maybe satin so that maybe I won’t have to mask the gold parts on the body. Suggestions would be appreciated.

It’s definitely worth more than what you pay for. Highly recommended!
