Charli is hitting new Heights
Wuthering Heights is an experience unlike any other I’ve had listening to a record. It’s a combination of the directness and saturation of the lyrical hooks, to the way it fills the space, sonically, so perfectly, that makes me feel more connected with it than any other album I’ve ever listened to. Specifically tracks 1-8 is the greatest run of tracks I’ve ever come across, and delivers listen after listen. I’m going to get ‘Open Up’ tattooed on me because in under two minutes, with two lyrics, it conveys more about passion, love and pain than anything I can think of. It sends chills up and down my body whenever I listen to it, because I get the feeling of connection that someone feels the way I do.
The best artists understand that there success provide opportunities to continue to tread new paths rather than consolidate old ones, and Charli and her team are creating music, including ‘Rock Music’, that is bold, ingenious, fearless and with such spirit and immense skill, in ways others can only attempt to follow. Rock Music is an example that Charli and co. are innovators, lovers of music and a drive to be at the forefront of culture with their finger on the pulse, to communicate with the intelligence and urgency that today’s world demands but often so glaringly lacks. Charli, since BRAT, has found another level, and will go on to be one of the few important artists in pop music telling the story of our time.
