Have you ever guys listened a neighbor listening Charli's music on a BLAST? it's so fun

My neighbor this week was listening ROCK MUSIC really loud. I was so surprised lol, I don't like noisy neighbors I always listen music with headphones (don't wanna pay any notification). But this time I really didn't give a F. It was so fun!!! Rock music wins!

Why is Rock Music receiving so much backlash?

Sorry, I’m not super active on social media, but I saw some people really hating on Rock Music, and I feel beyond confused. I am completely obsessed with the song (I have been since it released) and don’t see how it’s so different from the rest of her discography. Is it the title-bait or the production people aren’t pleased with?

Thoughts on this project

K so i hate commenting on a project with one song because that seems unfair but I was thinking about Charli's comment in her Vogue article that it would be sad if she made another dance leading album. This is kind of odd to me as a reader and a fan. Charli has been making dance leaning pop music since 2016. Multiple projects over many years that never felt repetitive. It felt like she herself was continuing the ethos of pc music in that pop isn't flat and has one thousand different angles to explore. It's why non of her projects have felt competitive. So it's a bit odd that she would state that exploring dance music after brat would be sad. It almost flattens her own theory. I do believe there is a universe where she could do another pop album and explore things she never has, it's kind of what she has done. Now with that being said, I understand that the difference is she's never had a culture grabbing piece of work like Brat so maybe that's exactly what it is, never before has she had the pressure of what's next to this degree, but for an artist who is always explaining how she doesn't create for a certain reaction she just creates what she wants to in the moment, its an odd statement to hear. Either way im glued to what she does next. I also realize that it's not a rock album and the pop elements are still there. No one does tongue in cheek like our girl Charli. Excited to hear your thoughts.

My all time favorite Charli song

This is the song that really got me into Charli and it’s just sooo good! My dream is to see her perform it live but I don’t think that’ll happen 😭

Does Charli like any of her albums?

Don't know if this is true but I heard she doesn't like Crash. This figuratively makes me sad because Crash in my favourite.

IMHO,

  • True Romance and Charli Album are better in terms of songs individually than they are as an album.
  • Sucker, Break the Rules is a very good song, but overall better as an album than as individual songs.
  • How I'm Feeling Now, I still listen to some songs but the theme is too 2020-y for me now.
  • Crash, though it has just a trio of bangers I re-listen to Crash from start-to-finish a lot more than other Charli albums.
  • Brat, very good both as an album and individual songs.

Does anyone ever revisit r/xcxheads and just peruse the old posts?

Don't get me wrong; I'm really glad we've reclaimed this sub from the perverts and that her fanbase has exploded, but I loved how tight-knit the community was in that era.

The community was a lot less active, but the shitposts were high-quality when we had them, and I feel like the fans were more-or-less on the same wavelength since the lore and narrative and everything wasn't as out-of-control as it is these days.

I contributed a little on my old account, and I kinda miss those days. How I'm Feeling Now was the last era to debut on it, which gives it all a more bittersweet vibe given the themes and context of that era. I'm just really glad it's been archived so I can always go back for a sense of comfort.

How is she gonna perform Ro(OOOOooooOOOOoooo)ck Music live?

We all know that our queen tends to perform whilst relying heavily on the pre-recorded track. I know we’ve debated the degrees to which that’s cool or not.

I’m just trying to envision her like pretending that the glitch in RoooOOOOoooOooock music is something she is simultaneously producing with her vocal cords live and it’s making me laugh.

How do you think she’s gonna handle it? Lean into it? Go Nirvana Unplugged on us?
