Is anyone else still seeing their payment as unpaid in the UoPeople portal?

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing this.

I paid my course fees through PayPal, since that’s the only payment option available to me. In previous semesters, I also paid through PayPal, and my portal would be updated/cleared within a few days, usually less than a week.

This time, however, my payment is still showing as unpaid/pending in my portal, even though the payment was already made.

I’ve already contacted my academic advisor about the issue, but I’m still waiting for the payment status to be updated.

Has anyone else paid through PayPal recently and is still waiting for their portal to be updated? If so, how long did it take for your payment to be reflected?

I’m mainly asking because this didn’t happen to me in previous semesters, so I’m wondering if there’s currently a delay with payment processing. Thanks!

Saylor Direct courses with a short time limit – Introduction to Comparative Politics

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to take Introduction to Comparative Politics through Saylor Academy Direct, but I have a limited amount of time to complete the course.

For anyone who has taken a Saylor Direct course recently:

- How quickly can you realistically complete the course?

- Does the Direct version have short-answer questions or written assignments?

- Or is the final assessment mainly multiple-choice questions?

- Is Introduction to Comparative Politics relatively easy to complete quickly if you already have some background knowledge?

I would really appreciate any advice or experience from people who have taken this specific course or other Saylor Direct courses. Thank you!

Is this remote data entry interview offer legit or a scam?

I recently received an email inviting me to an interview for a remote Entry-Level Data Entry Clerk position. I’m not very experienced with online job interviews, so I want to make sure this is legitimate before responding.

Here are the details I received (I have removed personal information for safety):

Sender email: a Gmail address (not a company domain)

Position: Remote Data Entry Clerk (entry-level)

Interviewer name: “Susan Began, Director”

Platform: Microsoft Teams invite link

Company mentioned: Scribendi

Job code included

They asked me to confirm availability within 2 days

The message felt a bit urgent and the email didn’t seem official, so I’m unsure if it’s real or a scam.

Has anyone seen something like this before? Any advice would be appreciated.
