Advisor reached out to me after I posted their mistake on reddit

A few days ago, I posted on reddit how I emailed my advisor questioning her about Rosalyn AI system, I received no reply for more than 10 days and after that I posted here how no one is replying to my email even after multiple reminders, less than 24 hrs of that post, i recieved the email from my advisor and she told me she did not receive any email from my side and started telling me how rosalyn AI is good.

She also mentioned to share a screenshot of my email as proof because they think I didn't even mail them.

I emailed them the screenshots and guess what, no replies

It's been 3-4 days since that incident.

I think after reading this post, I will again get the reply within 24 hrs.

Lets see.

Hi, (Who?)

Just a quick thing. When you give feedback, make sure you actually say the person's name up top. Like "Hey Sarah…" or "For David…". It makes it feel less like a form letter and more like you're actually talking to them.

Email Response: Rosalyn AI

I just received this email. Honestly not sure what to make of it.

Oof

What the HECK happened to this place. Honestly I have NEVER had so many issues and it looks like I'm not the only person. I've had 3 advisor changes now in the last month. My "study path" shows I now need all these computer science classes... I'm a health science major!! Make this make sense?! I'd rather take business courses. What in the heck does programming have to do with health science?!

Guys I don't even think I'm continuing. Between the new AI garbage and all of the issues (not to mention now it takes weeks for a reply when I used to just have days). Suddenly classes are "full" now when previously they weren't. I have more classes to complete than previously. New classes are showing up than before.

Hello?! Are they even listening?! This is worse than it's ever been.

Good luck to all of you. Seriously. I really mean it. ♥️♥️

Bemused by My Elective Options

Whilst enrolling for classes last week, I found myself rather bemused. As a Business undergraduate, I was presented with options ranging from Computer Science programming to Biology under the Health Science umbrella. These are not required for my degree, nor do they appear on my course map. One can't help but wonder what logic the registry is operating on by including them in the selection pool.
Why were unrelated Computer Science and Biology electives listed for a Business major during course registration?

Greek and Roman civilization (HIST1421).

Thats the course I’m registered for in this upcoming semester and it says proctored by Rosalyn Ai.

Not sure how to deal with that Ai being my proctor, but can anyone tell me how bad/hard that course is?
Also, I would appreciate it if you shared with me the reading material. I can’t seem to find it in the portal/campus.

Thanks!

UoPeople messing with my graduation deadline

I’m really frustrated. After all this time at UoPeople, paying fees on time and completing everything, my Degree Audit Report suddenly changed right before graduation(BSBA). They reduced Gen Ed credits from 36 to 33, which turned my completed electives into incompletes. Now they’re saying I need one more elective plus three major courses that I am currently working on.
I sent my old March DARs showing everything was fine and reminded them of their catalog policy (follow requirements from your start date), but it’s not being fixed. My advisor Safa K takes days to reply, just forwards to Student Services, and mentions “up to 16 business days.” Her latest update is still incorrect, so I’ve had to CC Student Affairs and others.
Has anyone experienced a sudden DAR change like this near the end? Were you able to get them to honor the original catalog, or did you have to take the extra courses? How long did it take?

Any advice would be appreciated. This is making graduation much harder than it should be.
TL;DR: UoPeople altered Gen Ed requirements, breaking my DAR and delaying graduation. Similar experiences?

Is support non-existent?

I recently applied and did the admission.

Next is the orientation but I haven't received the email for that login information. Was able to find the username but no matter how many times I request a password it's not sent to me.

Every response sent is a cookie cutter response about how orientation is required etc, but never addressing the specific technical issues.

Also inquiring whether a JST, Joint Service Transcript, can be reviewed for transfer credits and just get redirected to a page that won't accept them as an upload etc. Again never getting an actual response, just a cookie cutter response.

Is everything ran by AI chatbots here?

I want an affordable option to a degree but also don't want to be too heavily invested for something that ends up being a waste of time.

Does it get better?

I'm so tired of my professor...

First and foremost, she uses AI for literally everything. The assignment prompts were generated with AI. Her forum responses are generated with AI. She grades assignments using AI. And despite using AI for literally everything, she cannot seem to grade assignments on time. Every assignment is graded at least two weeks later. And when she does take the time to actually write one or two sentences of her own thoughts, she injects her Westernized political beliefs into literally everything.

I decided to Google her name, and her background does not even match the subject she is teaching. At all. And for someone who is so micro about spelling and punctuation mistakes, she could not spell the word 'professional'. Truly incredible.

I'm frustrated that I seem to be one of the few students in the course who actually completes with assignments and forum posts without using AI, and she still finds reasons to dock points from me. Based on her previous response to my forum post, I am starting to believe it could even be racially / ethnically motivated (we are both from America).

It's annoying having an unqualified professor use ChatGPT to grade every one of my assignments with a microscope. I actually care about my academics, not just passing and getting the degree. It's very demotivating, and I guess I just needed to vent.

Can i transfer credits after completing term 1 at uopeople?

I’m almost done with term 1 and just now found out about transferring credits from Sophia or study.com. Can i take a leave of absence to complete courses from these sites and then transfer? Or are you only allowed to transfer before you begin your degree?

DAR

I’m in my first term and I have 79/122 credits in BSHS. I’ve been having issues with my DAR. I’ve completed all electives needed, will have Gen Ed completed at the end of this term and will have 37/49 credits left to graduate. My DAR changed and it’s saying I need 1 elective, showing 72/122 and on the course page it says 72/3 credits earned. Looked back at my DAR and now it’s back at 79/122 but still has 72/3 credits earned. What happened to my other credits? I reached out to my Advisor and was told that she will reach out to the department that handles this and it will take 16 days. I’m registered for one class next term PSYCH 1111 which is a major course but elective. I don’t need electives. There’s no other HS courses available so I’m just stuck at the moment. This is really frustrating because I planned everything out so I could be done within 1.5 years.

Anything good about UoP??

I just applied to this school, I’m at the point of beginning orientation and I got into this subreddit to keep up with peers.

In the last few days I’ve been looking through the posts on here and I have not seen very much positive feedback. Like, actually next to none.

Everyone has concerns about the Rosalyn AI proctoring, there’s tons of people saying getting a response or ahold of an advisor takes one to two business weeks, there’s people losing credits, having to retake courses they’ve passed, concerns about cheating, hardware, no student representation and all sorts of other things.

Needless to say, it’s been really disheartening. I understand that there are challenges with any school, especially online, but I’m starting to wonder if anyone has anything positive to say.

I haven’t started really financially investing in the school yet, just the application fee, but I’m wondering if the process will be worth the headache.

If anyone has anything positive to share, I’d love to hear it. And if truly not… I would also like to know because this is going to be a years long endeavor and I definitely want to heed the warnings of those who have given it their absolute best shot and have been met with many a frustration.

Thanks in advance ♥️

Learning to Adapt in a World with Rosalyn AI

Getting used to all these new changes has really shown me how flexible we humans need to be. I try to focus on the positives and make the best of things. With Rosalyn AI taking off, everyone has been sharing their concerns and so on. But one thing I want to add is that I really hope they create an online proctoring solution for students using Chromebooks. After all, most students rely on them for their studies.

170,000 students and no one representing us, lets change that

Hello,

So I've been thinking about this for a while now. We have 170,000+ students across 213 countries and there is literally no one representing us to the university. No student government, no formal way to raise issues, nothing.

Like when your advisor goes awol, when courses fill up out of nowhere, when the transfer credit team just says decisions are final and that's that... where do you even go? You just post on Reddit and hope someone has an answer.

I actually started putting together a formal proposal to submit to Student Affairs requesting official recognition of a UoPeople Global Student Union. The idea is pretty simple. A student led group that advocates for us, flags systemic issues, and actually has a seat at the table when the university makes decisions that affect our degrees.

Not trying to make it a big dramatic thing, just think we deserve better than emailing into a void and getting a different person every time.

Would you support something like this? And honestly what is the one thing you would want a student union to tackle first? If you want to contribute and help get this off the ground feel free to DM me, I want to know what actually matters to current students before I submit anything.

Only 3 of 22 courses from accredited colleges were accepted for transfer

I logged in today to see if my transcripts had been evaluated yet and it said it was pending payment, so I was excited to review the list. I submitted transcripts from two accredited community colleges with a total of 24 courses with grades of C or higher. I have an Associate of Arts degree so I figured some of the degree specific courses may only transfer over as electives but am shocked by my results.

The system is showing only 3 of my 24 courses were accepted, one humanities and two electives. I've seen all the posts regarding not being able to get ahold of someone to review more specific issues so decided to check here for guidance/advice.

Course registration

Hello everyone,

I am right now a new student doing foundation course at Uopeople (introduction to computer and online learning strategies) which will be completed in 1st week of June.

As new term registration is opened, I can only see 2 elective courses;

Composition of English
programming Fundamentals

can anyone guide me why can’t I select any other course and when i will become a degree seeking student?

Need advice about registration when I only have one course left

Hi everyone,

I’m currently enrolled in my last remaining course for my Bachelor’s degree, Business Policy and Strategy. The course is expected to end on June 4, 2026, and once completed, I should have fulfilled all the requirements for my Bachelor’s degree - according to the DAR.

However, we are currently in the registration period, and the system is asking me to register for the next term. When I try to register, all the courses suggested by the system are courses I have already taken and completed.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Should I simply ignore the registration reminder, or do I need to request a Leave of Absence for the next term while waiting for graduation processing?

I would really appreciate any advice from students who have already gone through this.

Thank you in advance!

Is it recognized in the UK?

Hello everyone!
I’m interested in enrolling at the University of the People and getting a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
May I ask you if you know if a degree in this university is recognized in the UK? I’d mainly need that for work (in the business world) and for immigration purposes
