UoPeople to Ivy League for Masters?

What do you think are my chances of getting into an Ivy League/Russell Group university for a master’s after doing my bachelor’s in computer science from UoPeople? Say I have a 3.9 GPA. I really want to get in, but I’ve not seen many success stories on here.

Suppose I’ve already checked with the target universities for acceptance of UoPeople degrees and maintained a good score, have some projects, and good LoRs. What else can I do to get an edge over brick-and-mortar uni students?

How to secure LoRs?

I’ve made every effort to secure LoRs from instructors by asking them questions about the course material and sharing my plans and projects. Despite this, none of them have been willing to grant me LoRs.

If you’re someone who has successfully obtained it, I would greatly appreciate your guidance and advice.

Missing graph in Statistics course

Self-quiz has some issues in the statistics course. It doesn’t show any graph. Is this a universal thing or does it have to do with browser compatibility?

Ps- I’m using Brave.

Post submission by Sunday?

I’m taking Digital Electronics and Computer Architecture (CS1105) and Statistics (MATH 1280) this term, and it’s been tough with all the readings.

I don’t understand why there is this criterion of submitting the initial post by Sunday.

Most people are taking 2 or more courses. Each course has a vast amount of reading material provided each week, and most of them have discussions concurrently. How do they expect us to read 100 pages in 2 days for each course and also write up the main discussion post??

Is it just a recommendation or do instructors actually deduct points based on this criterion?

Crappy new UI

Moodle was significantly better than this downgrade. Everything is disorganized, hard to find, and quite complex. There are empty side borders for reasons I don’t understand. Am I supposed to take notes there or is there another purpose?

Multiple ways to access course content and activities are rather confusing. There’s a lot going on in the nav bar and the courses have weird unit package windows.

The one thing I truly appreciate is the option to download material for each week.

Heard it has Turnitin embedded… is this true?

What do you think about the new platform?

Any success stories?

Just wondering, what’s the most prestigious university/company that uopeople grads got into? I could really use some motivation rn.

New online campus

I received an email stating that we’ll be transitioning to a new campus next term. Where do we access this new campus link, since I’m not seeing anything on the portal and have not received any email with my login details and timing. Has anyone transitioned already?

Instructors don’t interact with you like they do in a traditional college. They don’t see your face, they don’t remember your name. You asking for recommendation letter after a few weeks or months and then being rejected is not an issue from their end but a low effort begging from yours. Yes, they won’t remember you, give them a reason to.

Interact, ask questions about the course content, don’t beg or be overly submissive or thankful. Every 2 weeks drop a message related to their expertise and your interests, seek their opinion on a project or a book or ask them for supplementary material.

Standing out is not just important for you to grab recommendations, it’s a must.

As soon as the course concludes, send an email to express your appreciation for the class and share your grades. In the email, kindly request if they would be willing to write you a letter of recommendation. Lastly, don’t wait for your final year, start now.
