[PubQ] Which type of agents to start querying first?
Some insight please?
I‘ve assembled a list of querying agents currently open to Sci-Fi. I’ve written my query letter. I’ve looked at QT and PM.
Is there a strategy as to who to query first? Small agents first? A mixture? I’m hesitant to include Senior Agents or Agents with big clients initially in case I get feedback about my query letter or manuscript re: edits and wasting a query on an agent with more connections.
Or should I not worry about that, as others will be open for queries as the year progresses? I’m aware Sci-Fi is niche.
(Regarding the project specifically, in case that matters for context, I’ve written a near future cyberpunk sibling abduction manuscript to completion with several revisions and had an editor look at it. it’s the first in a series but the main plot of the book wraps up. it’ll be LGBTQ for books 2-4)
