Seymour is dropping leaves!
This is Seymour! He's a 5 year old fiddle leaf who lives in Chicago with some lovely South facing sunshine. Each spring/fall he usually drops a few leaves, my guess is the temperature shift and heating/AC keeps him a bit wetter or dryer than usual. The past 2 weeks he has dropped like 5-6 leaves?! I am panicking and let his root ball completely dry out. I usually fertilize every 4-6 ish weeks, but generally he is a very happy boy and has been for years, he is also getting very tall. Some of the leaves he lost are at the bottom but some aren't. The new growth on top looks very good and happy. You can see the last picture of the leaves that are falling off (ignore my rabbits nibbles on it). He is pretty dry at this point, should I resume watering or let him dry out a bit more? I was thinking of repotting as well ( I just repotted him in the fall). Yes, I also know he is a little sun burnt and I usually have the shades down a little. HELP!?!
