Browning leaves

Brought this guy home a little more than a month ago and put it in quarantine with a good grow light. Haven’t had a ton of leaf drop, no signs of pests I can see, but it does have some browning tips.

I went ahead and repotted into a more chunky mix today, because the soil was still moist after several weeks. I cleaned/rinsed off the root ball the best I could, but I didn’t get all the old soil by far. It was super dense, I even found a couple earthworms living their best life (can I put these back in?). Overall the roots looked fine to me? Nothing felt mushy when I was messing with it.

Could the browning tips just be from the soil staying so moist? I want to try to eliminate other things before I move it out into the main area with my other plants.

(Of note, over the weekend the dang thing bent itself over to get closer to the light and it scorched one of its leaves).

Is this enough light?

Hi everyone! Basically what the title asks. I was wondering if this is enough light for my big girl. I got her this big already and just waiting & wondering when she’ll start sprouting new leaves. I’m just worried about the light she gets cause this corner I put her in doesn’t get as much morning light as it does with afternoon light (photo taken around 4pm) I move her sometimes too closer to the window where the light hits directly.

Will the afternoon/early evening light be enough for a flf this big? Would appreciate any tips/advices! 🫶🏻

Dark spots all over the leaves

I bought it a month ago and now there are several spots on several leaves like it shows in the images. Wondering what's the cause of this and how to cure it? I don't think overwatering is a cause btw since I water it once a week. Or how often should I water it?

Thanks in advance

My Fiddle Leaf Fig

She has reached the ceiling. I just pinched some of the ends to get her to sprout more horizontal branches. She was rescued from a visit to the green bin dumpster. I refuse to trim it at least for now. She thrives on egg shell and banana peel water.

Guys, be honest…can I save it?

The slow decline of my newly acquired FLF. I’m trying to read and figure out what to do but it’s all seemingly for naught. I think the roots were too disturbed while repotting once it got home. This is about week 3 now and I just the last few leaves yesterday. About 24 inches up the main stem is still hard and oozes a white sap but everything above that is dry and or getting goopy. Any thoughts, opinions, or prayers?

This escalated quickly!

Chopped my fig late spring and have had this stem/branch in water on the windowsill for months. I had the little white root nodes on there fairly quickly, but all in the last two weeks have gotten 2" roots and 6 new leaves!

Off to get some dirt and a cute lil pot today!

Just sharing the biggest fiddle leaf tree I have seen in real life (in LA county) :)

Back in business

Had propagated a branch and forgot to plant it. Definitely thought it was dead, but planted it outside in June just in case. Just noticed this little leaf pop up!

Adoption

Picked this beautiful FLF up at Safeway for $20 yesterday! It’s about 7-8’ tall potted, and I’m wondering if I should chop and prop to encourage more growth. Also wondering if I should separate into different pots. Thanks for your thoughts!

Drama Queen Post Tantrum 🤞

For the ones here going through it with their FLF. Be persistent, provide stability, be patient and hope for the best.

1st 7/1/26 I thought I was Gods favorite.. the girl was doing amazing 💁‍♀️

2nd 7/15/26 Tantrum began a few weeks post repot and post feed. I thought shed be a skinny queen the way she dropped over a dozen leaves basically over night. 🫪

3rd 8/15/26 Now a month after the tantrum began, things are finally looking up. Don’t give up on your FLF, they’re really just dramatic AF! 🤦‍♀️

Side note: Don’t be fooled by her good side, her canopy is blasting with leaves but there is definitely a noticeable amount of stem now visible. She dropped A LOT of leaves, and some are still yellow which I imagine will be drooped once shes done talking back nutrients.

4th 8/15/26 Her not so good side, because we like to keep it real. 😏

Too leggy already??

I just got this guy and I’m wondering if it’s too leggy already and I should consider trying to prune once it gets settled in its new spot? (The tree not the dog 🤣). It’s my first indoor fig. TY!!

Things keep going wrong!

I got a fiddle leaf about a year ago. To be honest I didn't take very good care of it which is why its missing a lot of bottom leaves :(. About two months ago I noticed yellow mushrooms in the soil (with a full cap and everything), so I repotted it. There was a weird thick clay like soil around the roots that I tried my best to break up, I don't know if this was fungus or something from the nursery.

After I repotted, I was trying to wait a long time between waterings because the trauma to the roots was making her take up water realllllyyyy slowly. I am sure the soil is too wet, but I live in dry Colorado, mixed in orchid bark, and wait a while between waterings. Today, I went to water and noticed these weird spheres/ovals in the soil, and little bugs jumping around the surface. Also the new leaves are brown and splotchy.

To I have some sort of bug infestation or fungus returning? What do I do?

Just brought this fiddle fig home

In the shop it was under ceiling LED lights. I'd like to keep it next to my bed which is next to an east facing window, not extremely bright. I was wondering is my bedside lamp enough to compensate for a medium-bright room? Any other tips for repotting and caring for this beautiful plant?
