Things keep going wrong!

I got a fiddle leaf about a year ago. To be honest I didn't take very good care of it which is why its missing a lot of bottom leaves :(. About two months ago I noticed yellow mushrooms in the soil (with a full cap and everything), so I repotted it. There was a weird thick clay like soil around the roots that I tried my best to break up, I don't know if this was fungus or something from the nursery.

After I repotted, I was trying to wait a long time between waterings because the trauma to the roots was making her take up water realllllyyyy slowly. I am sure the soil is too wet, but I live in dry Colorado, mixed in orchid bark, and wait a while between waterings. Today, I went to water and noticed these weird spheres/ovals in the soil, and little bugs jumping around the surface. Also the new leaves are brown and splotchy.

To I have some sort of bug infestation or fungus returning? What do I do?

When are secondaries asking for essays versus explanations?

While prewriting secondaries, I have run into a lot of prompts that ask you to share extenuating circumstances that may have limited areas of your application. Is this a prompt for the adversity essay or should I write a straight forward explanation? The limit is generally around 1000-2000 characters which is confusing me. Ultimately, I am trying to figure out if more creative and visual writing is appropriate here or not.

prompt example from Drexel: "We recognize that each applicant’s journey is unique. If there were any extenuating circumstances that limited your involvement in service, academic, or other preparatory experiences—including MCAT preparation/taking—please share them here. If none, simply type “N/A” in the response area. (1500)"

Tips from people with high service hours?

I feel like I see a lot of people on here with clinical hours or research hours >1k but I haven't found any posts from people with >1k service hours. For anyone in this position who has applied, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? Applying to service heavy schools ofc, but if there are some lowkey ones I might not have on my list, I would love to hear : )

GPA: ~3.5 cGPA & GPA with a strong upwards trend (finished last year 4.0)

MCAT: 514

1850 nonclinical volunteer hours with same org, 150 clinical other volunteer hours, ~1500 clinical hours, 175 research, 750+ nonclinical employment
