Frequent traveler through Lisbon - immigration lines at departure today are wrist-slitting long.

I arrived at 7:45 am for a 10:25 am international flight. Super fast through airline check-in and security. Immigration line to the e-gates looked completely empty so I decided to grab a quick bite in the lounge.

Huge mistake. Within 20 minutes the longest line I ever saw developed, snaking all the way to the exit. Astonishing how long and how rapidly it appeared.

Just a disaster zone and I can’t fathom how they are going to manage summer travel without any adjustments, but there does not appear to be any incentive to fix this. Sorry Lisbon - your airport is a steaming radioactive waste pile. Go through Porto. Go through Madrid. Take a speedboat from the Azores. Do anything other than transiting through Lisbon airport.
