Hello, my dad is currently on adjuvant immunotherapy with Keytruda. He had the tumor completely removed through a partial nephrectomy in March (stage III, grade 4), and so far the treatment has been going well.
He just had his first 3-month follow-up CT, and the doctor found some new micronodules in his lungs. She said they could be pseudoprogression (a temporary appearance or increase of lesions on imaging that can mimic disease progression), but they could also potentially be metastases.
Has anyone here, or any of your loved ones, gone through something similar? If these do turn out to be metastases, what does that mean for the prognosis? Can someone live for years with metastatic RCC? And would he still receive systemic treatment/immunotherapy to keep the disease under control?
I'm trying to understand what the possible next steps are and would really appreciate hearing from people who have been through something similar.
My dad started Keytruda as adjuvant in april. Ct scan was clean. Now it’s august and the new CT scan shows micronodules on lungs. Doctor says “possible pseudo-progression”, but also “suspicious in context”. How many of you had this pseudo progression?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some honest opinions and experiences while waiting for my dad's 3-month post-op CT scan.
He is 61 years old and was diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
His pathology:
The surgery was at the end of March. His first post-op CT (about a month later) was clear except for a postoperative fluid collection/seroma.
He then started adjuvant keytruda. He has tolerated treatment very well with essentially no significant side effects. His blood work has remained stable, kidney function is stable after surgery, and he feels well overall. No weight loss, no bone pain, no cough, no concerning symptoms.
He is having his 3-month CT results soon, and we're obviously very anxious.
Hi. I'm 33 (F), and I used to make friends so easy, back when I was a teenager.. I am funny, I always knew how to make the boys feel attracted to me, and strangers usually tell me I have this aura, the room lights up when I arrive, bla bla... I am just telling you that as a context, I'm not bragging, I'm actually pretty shy. Especially now when I'm older, I'm not the same outgoing person as I was. And now somehow girls run away from me. I have this biiiig girl friends group at work (which is pretty fake btw because they all talk behind each other's back), but nevermind. They go out a lot, I'm never invited (although I'm good friends with one of them separately, let's call her N).
I always feel like a mistress in this relationship with her, I don't know if that makes sense. We're the best when we're together, but I'm never invinted to any other gatherings. And now comes the interesting part: sometimes they go out with our male coworkers too. And they always ask about me "Oh, where's "X"? We never get to see her, she's such a fun person and I like her personality, why isn't she with us?" ... And my friend N never tells them: "Well, we don't invite her". No. I'm the problem somehow.
They are hiding this from male coworkers, so it looks like I have a problem and I don't go out. I feel like they try to make me look bad, so that they can shine. What a peasant move...
And uuuughh, I hate this so much, because I'm sooo much better on my own, but why do these problems always find me? I never asked for a big fake friend group, I never asked for jealous girlfriends, f*ck everyone. I have a great husband, a loving sister, so many other old friends from highschool which I love and who love me back, and they would NEVER not invite me cause I'm pretty and I may steal the show. I am so fed up, I might even end this relationship with N, or let it slowly fade, because obviously she's a scavanger too.
Joke's on her, men don't randomly start liking you if you hide your pretty friends from them...
