Profumo Affair - Stephen Ward’s Drawing of Prince Philip
In The Crown, the drawing that Stephen Ward made of Prince Philip is treated like a secret drawing found in his possessions and a major scandal. When I looked it up, he made the drawing during a scheduled sitting at Buckingham Palace, and it was subsequently published as the front of a magazine, which had commissioned it.
So why does the show change it completely to some illicit drawing, even bringing it back up again as potential blackmail material by the Soviet spy? When it seems to have been nothing of the sort?
