My headcannon for the ending of MHA where deku keeps a quirk.
I have a headcanon for MHA's ending.
At the end, Deku becomes quirkless again after passing OFA to Shigaraki during the final war. The story explains that OFA is essentially a crystallization of the powers of the previous users that had been passed down through generations.
There were a total of 7 inherited quirks: Gearshift, Fa Jin, Smokescreen, Blackwhip, Float, and the others alongside OFA itself. But OFA wasn't originally a single quirk. It was actually created by the fusion of Yoichi's quirk (the ability to pass on quirks) and the stockpiling quirk that AFO gave him.
So if we don't follow the logic of 'fusion', there should technically be 8 quirks involved, not 7.
Because of that, I think it would've made sense if Deku transferred all of the vestige quirks during the final battle, essentially allowing them to fulfill their purpose and disappear, while still keeping the stockpiling quirk itself.
This would also work thematically because Deku would no longer be able to pass OFA on to anyone else. OFA's journey would finally end with him.
As for the argument about the stockpiling quirk having its own vestige, it could be added to the story that AFO stole it from a child before the quirk had even manifested, meaning there may not have been a fully formed vestige in the first place. It also fits the narrative why afo said he found a quirk that even yoichi could use, because the stockpiling quirk didn't stockpile any power, so yoichi's frail body could handle it at that time.
This way, Deku could still continue hero work, teach the next generation, and still enjoy being a hero instead of completely losing that part of his life.
What do you guys think?
