Oh sorry I mean the lighthouse jersey has miraculously regained the lead! :)

Gotta give the Isles credit they are mining engagement perfectly, no wonder they won that award.

26/27 NHL Schedule for the New York Islanders

Of note:

First game is @ TOR, Wed 7:30PM. Toronto will be coming off a back-to-back with Montreal previously. I 100% think the Isles get this prime slot because of Schaefer.

First home game is Saturday 7:30PM against the Devils.

4 back to backs in December: away-home, home-away, away-away, away-home.

Longest road trip is late January to early February, 5 games with one day break in between each one: PIT CAR TBL FLA BUF. Then the All-Star break then an away game at MSG. January also begins with a 4-game road trip (SEA VAN CGY EDM).

Longest homestand is beginning of March with 4 games (WAS, VGK, PIT, MTL).

First game we see Lee again is Dec 15 (Tue 7PM) away. Feb 15 (Mon 3PM wow what a horrible time President's Day! You'll have off when Lee comes back!) he comes to see us.

Season closer is April 10th, 5PM vs CBJ at home (like two season ago... meaning maybe we'll land DuPont again this off-season?)

I do some writing as a hobby, I've mentioned this in a couple of comments on Reddit but I got inspired by the miracle of us winning the draft lottery and wrote a whole fictionalized story about it.

For some context to the story, the year before that I got inspired by some NY Post article about how the flu went through the Rags locker room at the end of their series against the Canes and made a story in a world where all the NHL conspiracies are true and beyond, that story had the main character be a doctor brought in to get the locker room sick on purpose. I didn't know what to do with it so I posted it on the main hockey sub and mostly got told it was fanfiction, which I guess it is though I like to think it's closer to the more heady forms of fanfiction with themes and ideas and such.

This story is a sequel to that where the same main character lands a job as the Isles' rep in the draft lottery, which in this world is an elimination-style contest where the 16 non-playoff teams all bicker about and vote on who should win the draft. I thought of it June of last year and finished it the very last day of last year but haven't done anything with it. I wanted to patch it up, tighten it up, maybe improve the characterization of, like, 16 characters, but whatever it's hobbyist work.

Since this year's draft lottery is tomorrow I remembered it existed and figured I'd put it up here just in case anyone is interested in reading it. Last time I put it up on Reddit, Google Drive deleted it because I guess it thought I was trying to distribute a real book, so I'll try to put two links up in that pseudo-link format everyone else seems to use:

So if you want to read 70k+ words about a world where all the conspiracies about the NHL draft lottery are true, go ahead. If you think it sucks and I can't write let me know. Sorry to the mods if this kind of content goes against the sub's rules but I tried to reach out over modmail last time and didn't get an answer so I figured this time I'd just post it and let it get removed if it violates something. Figured it can't be self-promotion if I'm not actually selling anything.
