My experience with CB reptiles
I wanted to share my experience with CB reptiles here to warn any new reptile keepers about them.
I have been looking at bearded dragons and researching them for a while, so for mother's Day my husband wanted to surprise me with a dragon with all the set ups which he bought and set up before arrival - we even had our roaches ready and gut loading.
He researched and found CB reptiles and ordered a Beardie through there. I later found out how they have multiple websites with different species going on and that likely means they are a reptile mill which just made me feel very guilty.
They went radio silence for a few days and when we followed up, they made up some excuse about why they hadn't shipped and when we told them we wanted to cancel our order or get our money back through the vet, they responded that they had already shipped her. We checked out tracking and it was a 4 day shipping which on their website they specified overnight. We wrote back and they said they made a mistake.
The worst part is that our dragon finally arrived and she was very skinny, skin rugged and just overall very scared and lethargic. She has been basking in her enclosure, but honestly it's been a super stressful and heartbreaking experience to see her like that and I am not an experienced reptile owner, but I feel 4 days in darkness is not great for them.
I don't know if this is normal in the reptile world, but I was just very angry at how careless these people were with these animals that are very sensitive and fragile. Thankfully nacho cheese is doing better in her enclosure in a quiet room and exploring, but it was very distressing to not know what's happening to an animal for 4 days without human care.
