HELP! Shingles, fungus, or dyshidrotic eczema on sole of foot

I'm 32 year old female, type 1 diabetic with controlled A1C of 5.7% and I am also 37 weeks pregnant.

I began swelling normal pregnancy swelling in my hands and feet for the last two weeks, and I also live in Florida, which exacerbates the swelling when I'm outside. Last week, I was wearing my plastic (?) Birkenstock sandals to help give me arch support in my pregnancy… But my feet were rather sweaty on Wednesday in particular.

Thursday, I wake up to see the first photo (dates shown in screenshots of each photo) and thought little of it… Was thinking I maybe got some bug bites. It was a little itchy.

Friday, the dots turned into more blister-like and Chat GPT diagnosed me with dyshidrotic eczema. Saturday the blisters got more pronounced. Symptom was mainly itchy at this point. By this point I had put tea tree oil, creams, Vaseline etc. to find relief.

Finally yesterday I took the second to last photo and called my OBGYN & booked a podiatry appointment. Tried a derm but the wait was weeks and with me being diabetic I had to take this seriously.

The last photo is from today. I showed it to my OB/GYN and she thinks that it's shingles. Mind you, I have had the chickenpox as a child… But don't have any accompanying symptoms that supposedly come with shingles like fever and what not. She prescribed me Valtrex.

About an hour later, I visited the podiatrist as a new patient. He took a look at it and heard my explanation about sweating in my Birkenstocks last week, and suspects that this is fungal. He prescribed me topical ketoconazole.

So I called my OB/GYN, and she said to go ahead and take both just to get rid of whatever is on my foot.

I have literally spent hours researching this on Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Reddit, and now TikTok. I would love some more experienced or even professional opinions here.

Thank you!
