EDIT: We are trying to look at what community to settle down in. Right now seven pines is top choice.

Hi everyone!

We’re in the early planning stages of a move to the Jacksonville area, likely around July/August 2027, and I’m trying to get a head start on researching the best fit for our family.

We have 4 kids (ages 6–11) who are very active and all highly involved in athletics—especially hockey and soccer. Hockey is the bigger focus for us, but both are equally important, so we’re really trying to find a place that supports both.

We’re focused on finding the right mix of school, community, and access to athletics.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Private schools with strong academics and athletics

• A school/community where families are involved and connected

• Family-friendly, safe areas

• Being within a reasonable commute to major hospitals (this is a big factor for us job-wise)

• And realistically… commute time in general matters a lot with 4 kids in sports lol

• Strong youth sports programs/clubs, especially for hockey and soccer

We’re currently considering Lutheran options like Grace Lutheran School and University Christian School, but are very open to other recommendations.

For areas to live, we’re considering:

• Ponte Vedra / Nocatee

• St. Johns County

• Mandarin

• Jacksonville Beach

Would really appreciate insight on:

– Best areas if you want to be close to hospitals but still in a great family/community setting (without crazy commutes)

– Where families with active kids tend to live

– Best private schools (pros/cons)

– How the youth sports scene is (especially hockey and soccer)

– Anything you wish you knew before moving

Just trying to be intentional and find the best place for our kids to thrive both in school and sports while also making everyday life/logistics actually manageable.

Thanks so much in advance 🙏
