[OC] Introducing the craboro species of Munus!
These armoured invertebrates are deep ocean predators, and are part of a family spanning roughly 650 million years ago!
They primarily hunt prey via stalking it in the dark, then using the powerful frontal appendages on its face to crush and consume the prey.
The males of both species use the frill along their body to attract a mate, for territorial displays, or to fight for dominance. In the Southern Craboro, males possess bioluminescence in their frill, used when hunting to lure prey directly into crushing reach, similar to an anglerfish.
The Craboro genus as a whole is extremely successful due to their effective hunting techniques and females giving birth to 80-90 eggs per batch. These eggs are buried under rock or in the sand, and guarded by the female until they hatch.
