The Summit: How does difficulty scale?

My brother and I did our first play through of the Summit. We ran it on Normal difficulty with no directives. It was pretty easy until the Hunters
(I know, but please keep reading).
The damage scaling seemed drastically out of proportion. We were both downed in <20 seconds — no hacked skills. We tried it ab 10 times. True, we are both red core squishy players but compared to the first 99 floors, this was just nuts.

So I did I test. I took my toon alone to floor 100 and got it done on the 2nd try easy peasy. Then I took my brother's toon and did it first try. Same exact builds and it was so easy compared to how it was when we both went in there. And it wasn't 3 hunters vs 2 that made it harder. When we played as a team I was downed by 1 hunter not by all three hosing me. My theory is with additional players, the hunters deal and resist more damage. Is that true though? The difference in difficulty was night and day. And the lobby before the hunter room is sometimes 5 adds and sometimes 20. It's wonky I swear.

How does Summit difficulty scale 1-100 with each additional player?

I've been playing in different size groups and can't figure it out. Does 1 player on Normal feel like Challenging when 3 more people join?

Raising Control Point levels

I read the FAQ and see you need to find a Control Point that has thin red lines connecting to other red activities. I found a CP last night that had a 1 on it. I did a connected hostage rescue and a propaganda msg and the CP raised to a 3. Success !

But a few hours later when I checked the map, there were no CPs with connecting lines anywhere. Do you only get one a day? or is there a timer for those or something? The FAQ didn't mention anything about that.

Yesterday I got into the dz with 859 but I'm sure there have been lower more squishy runs than that. What was yours and how far did you push your luck?
