Which meals are the hardest for you to count carbs for?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to better understand what makes carb counting difficult in real life.
For those living with type 1 diabetes, or helping someone with it, which meals are the hardest for you to estimate?
I’m especially thinking about homemade meals, mixed dishes, restaurant food, or meals from different cuisines like couscous, tajine, rice dishes, pasta, soups, etc.
What usually makes it difficult: portion size, sauces, hidden ingredients, mixed carbs, or something else?
I’m asking because I’m working on a small app project around meal photo analysis and carb estimation, but I’m mainly looking for honest feedback and real-life examples here.
Of course, I know this kind of tool should only be used as an estimation aid and not as medical advice.
