‘Shakespeare in Autumn’ book and discussion

‘Shakespeare in Autumn’ book and discussion

Hi all,

I got this stunning copy of a Shakespeare collection for Christmas. It contains A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, and The Complete Sonnets.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the other seasons are available to buy, and if so where.

I was also wondering if anyone has any insight as to why the particular plays I have listed have been included in this collection?

Thanks in advance 😊

Starting RHOP for the first time!

Hey guys! I am looking for my next housewives watch having devoured RHOBH, RHOSLC AND RHOA. What is everyone’s favourite / best season of RHOP? What’s a reference I won’t understand until later? Thanks!

Deciding what housewives franchise to start next!

Hi all! Looking for what franchise I should start watching next. I have watched all of RHOBH plenty of times and have just finished Atlanta. I have also watched SLC a few times too. I’m just not sure where to go next, so any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have also watched VPR more times than I can count…

Thank you 😊

Thinking about Othello.

First ever Reddit post kinda nervous…

Went to see a production of Othello local to me last night and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I just wanted to open the conversation with likeminded people, as im sure my family are well sick of hearing me talk about my love for Shakespeare ( I am also an undergraduate English Literature student….)

As the post says I really LOVE Shakespeare, thanks in great part to my A Level teacher, who truly ignited my passion for Shakespeare. I’ve only just completed the first year of my English degree and am already thinking about potential Shakespeare dissertation topics. When I left my sixth form, I promised her I would send her a copy of my Shakespeare diss when I eventually wrote it.

Last nights production of Othello was my first time being exposed to the play. I haven’t previously studied it but knew loosely of its plot. The actors (who were all men - the mental image of the actor playing Emilia still makes me giggle) exuded such an intense passion when delivering the lines and I’ve been unable to stop thinking about the way the relationship between Emilia and Des played out, Iagos character as a whole, and Othello’s grief upon realising the truth in his last moments. It all truly took my breath away and left me feeling desperately sad for Des.

Anyway. Sorry for the longish post, just wanted to share my thoughts with like minded people and open the conversation on my favourite literary topic….😊
