Pretty impressive catch on an underthrown ball. They very much help eachother out, drake throws perfect balls majority of the time to help boutte and when he doesnt boutte still pulls it in.
He is probably going to end up with the texans i bet
Patriots training camp day 9 notes:
- Drake Maye and Tommy DeVito both 12/17 in 11s. Behren Morton 3/5
- Maye started slow - 1/5 but finished strong
- monster day for Kayshon Boutte. Caught 5-of-7 targets
- Mack Hollins has strung together impressive days
- James Hudson worked as the Patriots’ second unit RG
So far Brown and maye are having a rough time creating a connection and doubs is a no show through 4 days of training camp, boutte has burned Davis, byard, and gonzalez each on different routes so far clearly showing off his experience in the mcdaniels system.
I know it can be difficult for receivers to pick up mcdaniels system and develop a connection with the qb, im looking forward to seeing brown and doubs pick up and learn the offense and develop a connection with maye, very curious to see how they perform on the field.
Early in camp, growing pains are normal but this is something Interesting to watch for sure
He doesn't want Kraft making the contract talks public, listening to his answer when he was asked, he wasn't fond of that move by Kraft
Thus far through camp (only 3 days so not much time has passed of course lol) boutte is the clear number 2 behind brown, they have boutte playing primarily out of the Z and slot which are his natural roles, X being his worst role, amd he has been showing out looking like the best receiver on our roster thus far according to bedard, to say he is the best is a bit early but now that he is in his natural role and the one he played all through college he is very much performing much much better. Doubs has been struggling to pick up the offense and pretty much a no show in terms of production this far through camp, we will see if he can figure it out but i am very hyped for the brown boutte pairing which is the primary 2wr sets they have been running past few days
