Cartagena itinerary critique (11 guys, late 20s) — nightlife, boat day

Hey everyone — heading to Cartagena next week with a group of 11 guys (ages 27–30) and looking for some advice to optimize our plans.

Here’s what we’ve got so far:

Itinerary

  • Thursday: Land around 3 PM, staying in El Centro Planning dinner at Carmen at 7 PM Then keeping it pretty light (bar hopping, nothing too crazy)
  • Friday: Private boat day to the Rosario Islands (island hopping) Then planning to go out that night (this will likely be one of our bigger nights)
  • Saturday: No plans yet
  • Sunday: No plans yet (probably something more chill since we leave early Monday)
  • Monday: Early flight out

What we’re looking for

  • Fun nightlife (good energy, dancing, not just standing around) We really like EDM music!
  • Mix of local spots + some upscale clubs
  • Places that can realistically handle a group of 11 guys

Questions

🍾 Nightlife

  • Best clubs for a group our size? (Looking at places like La Movida, La Jugada, Taboo)
  • Is it worth getting a table/bottle service with 11 guys, or can we get in easily if we show up early?
  • Any spots that play a mix of house/EDM, or is it mostly reggaeton everywhere?

Boat Day (Friday)

  • Any tips for a private boat day?
    • What should we bring (cash, drinks, food, etc.)?
    • Anything people usually forget?
  • Which islands/beach clubs are the most fun/party vibe vs more chill?
  • Anything we should avoid doing or watch out for?

🍽️ Food

  • We have Carmen booked Thursday — good call?
  • Looking for other good restaurants that won’t require deposits or long waits for a group of 11
  • Any spots that are more local / authentic but still nice?

Saturday / Sunday ideas

  • Best ways to fill these days?
    • Beach clubs vs exploring vs chill rooftops?
  • Any must-do experiences we shouldn’t miss?

Thank you!
