Fragrantberry here (Yep Zuko/ATLA reference 🙈), this is a post I have been planning for a while and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a British Arab (who is also muslim) fan of the show - was introduced to it very recently (in March) and have fallen in love!
Not sure if everyone knows but the show has been dubbed into Arabic and I am so grateful 🥹🥰 (also really happy that it has been dubbed so early on as it means I can join this beautiful community .... usually we get dubs of either complete shows or long-running shows, like Jhanak, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Udaariyaan, Parineetii, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin etc). I have also watched plenty of itv shows and grew up on them (probs showing my age ... but I'm not very old 🙈), shows like Aathvaan Vachan and Baat Hamari Pakki Hai. Also Falak Khan (Safiya's actress) has acknowledged the dub (on her ig story about a week ago) and has has enjoyed the promo and clips the Arab channel (MBC Bollywood) has posted. 🤭
I've only just realised that it is possible that SHKH was sold/bought in the 1st few episodes and that it only released in March due to taking time with dubbing 🤭 hoping this means even more success for this beautiful show inshallah 🤲🏻
I look foward to contributing and have often shared my thoughts and have subbed clips from other shows (an Arabic-dubbed Greek show, e.g Agries Melisses) over on Twitter (feel free to take a look 🤗). I'll try if and when I can to do the same here too, let me know if anyone's interested 🥰
With regards to the plot ... the Arabic dub will air episode 36 today (airs from Sundays to Thursdays, 7:30pm UK time) and so it is still very early on and has its charm ✨️
I do remember saying to some family members who watch along that I won't be surprised that "watch when it turns out that Gazala didn't commit s-cide and jumped, but was actually pushed and killed" based on her shock and scream as she fell 💔🥺❤️🩹. (I may or may not have watched ahead through Eng/Arabic subs 🤭🙈). I am aware that SHKH is an adaptation of the Turkish dizi (also grew up on them 🤭), Kızıl Goncalar (KG) and I never watched it but knew of and about it. I have also seen plently of theories, analyses and thinkpieces (on everything from characters, plots to the ost and music) on here, instagram and twitter and I promise to read them and comment - I do love when fandoms are deeply involved and I also do love a good piece of written analysis 🥹🤩.
As another way of contributing, would others be interested if I made trp megathread (backdated)? Speaking of, I wish I could be in India and watch live and help in that sense (Colors TV is accessible here via TV packages- Sky/Virgin TV but unfortunately I don't have that and afaik it wouldn't really count 😅🙈).
My only question is why are the episodes so short? (Even for a daily show/show running 5x a week). I'm used minimum of 45. 🙈 Any chances of it increasing?
