People really slept on Babylon and I don’t get why
I went into Babylon expecting a random detective anime with average ratings and came out wondering why nobody talks about it.
This thing isn’t trying to be flashy action or comfort-watch material. It’s a slow psychological mystery that keeps pushing uncomfortable questions about morality, justice, politics, truth, and what people actually mean when they say “freedom.”
The atmosphere feels heavy in a good way, the tension keeps building, and some moments genuinely made me stop and think after the episode ended.
Yeah, it’s not perfect and I get why it’s divisive, but a 6.74 feels way lower than what I expected after watching it.
If you like:
Psychological anime
Detective / investigation stories
Moral dilemmas
Suspense with actual tension
Anime that leave you thinking afterward
Give Babylon a shot.
Curious if anyone else watched it—did you think it was underrated or am I alone on this one?
