The external factors...
Sarah is who she is, and the crime is as bizarre as any in recent memory. However I found myself wondering about the external factors that made her more interesting and gave us all more information than the average killerer. I came up with a couple:
- The crime occurred in Florida, with the crazy Sunshine Laws that make so many details public. Police bodycams, the interrogation, every courtroom appearance, all of her letters. Is there a State comparable to FL in this regard?
- She also happened to have a family court drama unfolding at the same time, adding even more salacious details and a further window into her twisted psyche.
- The introduction of the "Documentarians", who ended up releasing (legally or not, I'm still wondering) so many of her phone calls.
Did I miss anything? Sarah would still be Sarah, but I posit that these factors added to and expanded what we know about her and her case.
And let's never forget, RIP Jorge Torres - the true center of her horrendous crime.
