Speed work
Hello guys, in the past weeks (4 nearly) I tried to change a little bit my training for try to improve my speed but at the same time I didn’t want lose to many miles a week of aerobic training. Let’s me explain and tell my what you think about that.
Context: I am doing roughly 120km (75 miles) a week average, usually my week is 1 threshold session and one long run, the rest of the week just easy miles (maybe sometimes 2 threshold session but shorter).
I tried to “sacrifice” a day of training for just doing anaerobic work, 200m/300m and sometimes 400m just of pure speed, any aerobic stress that day (of course I do warm up and cooling down) but for do that, I add every other day of the week 2km each day for don’t lose the aerobic stress I will lose on that day of the week.
I try to do this cycle 2 straight weeks and after I take a week off from speed work.
