How do you process field recordings and/or samples until they're unrecognizable?

Hi everyone!

I've been listening to KK Null's Fertile recently and was fascinated to read that he's used field recordings to make the sounds on his record (which sounds nothing like a field recording at any given time). I have some basic pedals like phaser, chorus, delay, reverb, tremolo, filter and a lot of fuzz and distortions, but the results always end up sounding same-ish affter a while. I suspect there's something more. LFOs and stuff? Some fancy plug-ins? What do you personally do to your samples and field recordings?

Also, related question... how do you process field recordings to make HNW? This is just a curiosity.

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

The voice and speech should be something kind of like what's at the beginning of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGJRl-dMa9Y

Just a very short presentation of a band. Hopefully we can do this friendily without any money involved. Contact me if you're intererested, more details in DM!
