I’ve been pulling my Helium 10 exports into SQL and Power BI instead of just filtering spreadsheets. Partly to make sense of the data my own way, partly because I’m learning data analysis anyway and figured I’d use real projects to practice.
Curious if anyone else does this, or if you all just stay in Excel. Is the extra setup worth it, or am I overcomplicating product research?
Been digging into competitor pricing for a category I'm looking at, and the split is roughly 50% selling under $20, 40% between $20-30, and only about 10% above $30.
I'm thinking about coming in around $20-30 with a similar product, but it's got me wondering how much price actually drives sales in private label vs. everything else — reviews, photos, listing quality, brand trust, etc.
Is sitting in that middle price band a decent spot, or does it just mean you're getting squeezed from both sides? Anyone here priced above the market average and had it actually work out? Trying to figure out if this pricing pattern means anything before I commit to sourcing.
