Ginny character creation

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else feels like JKR changed her character design of Ginny Weasley sometime after the 3rd book onwards.

I feel like Ginny being into Quidditch was something she decided some point in the 4th book and originally Ginny was not going to be a sporty girl. But this is just a hunch when I read the books.

I feel like the main character trait we see in early Ginny is that she enjoys writing and writes a lot in her diary and obviously this later ties into the fact she ends up being a sport journalist. But we often see her reading magazines etc and I do think she was more intended for that to be a bigger focus for her character and then at some point JKR decided to make her sporty and popular.

As well as great at hexing which is something that is mostly off page. I kind of like the shy girl who writes in a diary portrayal we had originally. The one who writes silly poems. I also think she later became a character who was gusty and “didn’t cry” but that early Ginny was more emotional.

Does anyone else feel this? Does anyone know any good fics that focus on her bookish side?

New Show will bring more Snape ships

Am I the only one who thinks that this new tv series will actually bring a boost in some underrated Snape ships??? I feel like with the tension Book Snape has with literally every defence professor in the series and the likelihood we will see additional scenes of him interacting with more adults we will get some cool fics and ships based off these interactions!

I am already envisioning that Lockhart and him will be great TV esp if they find a good looking fella to play Lockhart. They had so many comedy good scenes in the books. Same with Lupin, and hell even Quirrell and Fake Moody.

I’m also hoping the show continues to show Snape and McGongagall as rival besties like the film kind of implied.

And I am really hoping to have at least one scene of Lucius Malfoy and Severus in the same scene to see a glimpse of their friendship that’s mentioned so many times throughout the series.

Aged Care to Midwifery

Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone has any experience going from aged care nursing to midwifery.

I like aged care and have been in it for 10 years as a PCA and I am not fussed if that’s where I go once I finish my RN but I do like the idea of slowly working on a postgrad of midwifery and going down that path over time.

I did a recent placement near a maternity ward and I definitely enjoyed it. I also did medsurg and rehab and enjoyed those fields too.

Any advice also welcome from people who moved to midwifery from any other areas of general nursing first!

Cheers :)

Book suggestions pls

Hi,

I’ve realised that whilst I like elements of fantasy I only really like books where the fantasy feels accessible and the plot is more of a mystery or a whodunnit (like Harry Potter), I was wondering if anyone has good recommendations of books or series where it’s set in a fantastical setting but has strong mystery plotting? Not hugely into pages of world building or political fantasy just ones that feel like a detective book if that makes any sense!
