IVF pregnancy, induction experiences?

In my trust (Tayside, Scotland) and despite being otherwise healthy, I'm automatically classed as high risk due to IVF (unexplained fertility, first transfer worked perfectly) and they are recommending I get induced to avoid going over 40 weeks. I've got a meeting with my consultant in June to chat it through. But I'm just not feeling great about being induced early. Has anyone had any experience of this with IVF?

Obviously if there are genuine risks of stillbirth associated with IVF I have zero qualms going ahead with it, but from what I can find in studies and statistics, it's a bit of a panic reflex.

Did your mum ever go with you to appointments?

Is it normal to have your mum at appointments?

My mum is constantly offering to come to appointments with me if my husband can't make it, which is absolutely lovely, and I'm grateful but I'm starting to see she's a little bit disheartened at not coming to any (my husband makes sure he's there).

My Dad was old school hands off in pregnancy, so my mum went to all her appointments with her Auntie. My sister has a useless partner so my mum went to all the appointments for her two pregnancies. The support is lovely and I'm not cutting her out, but I'm just wondering am I really going against the norm by not having her at one or two? It honestly never crossed my husbands or my mind that it wouldn't just be me and him at appointments!
