Any luck with cheap supermarket roasts?

I was shopping today and spotted a good deal on a rump roast. I didn't buy it, but it got me thinking if it was possible to turn these cheap roasting joints (also round, and housekeeper's) into something palatable.

I did a bit of googling and found this really interesting recipe for rump: 75C for 4 hours and a sear.

I was wondering if anyone here has got any good results with cheap roasting joints?
