I recently jumped back into the game to do some testing for a twister build and was immediately reminded that pure physical builds just dont have lots of toys to play with.
Most Skills inherently convert damage to an Element. But the skills that dont convert often times still greatly benefit from Elemental Damage.
A Skill with lots of attention lately is Twister. Twister is a baseline non-elemental skill. It scales off of weapon damage, so it does not come with a damage conversion. However it has the following line attached to it: Elemental twisters Gain 50% of damage as damage of the corresponding Type
Making such a build pure physical just does not have the same scaling possibilites as making it an elemental build.
And this is the case for many other skills aswell.
Impale has seen some play on spells, but feels very underdeveloped aswell.
I really wish we would have more pure physical damage scalers. Maybe a dedicated physical ground effect like chilled, shcoked and burning ground, that in the case of twister adds x% of damage as physical.
This might be because we are still missing the melee classes and probably those would add more physical scaling to the tree and mod pool. But right now, it seems like Physical damage builds got the short end of the stick.
