Built a 57 block tall monolith in my Beta 1.7.3 world
I wanted to make something REALLY tall

I wanted to make something REALLY tall
I found this random dirt pillar in the middle of a taiga near my home. Is this some weird terrain glitch?
I keep finding evidence of mob suicide. There's always some sort of passive mob drop at the bottom of a cliff
HELL ON EARTH. First of all, B1.8 added a lot of things Notch said he wouldn't add. He added sprinting, a hunger system, xp, etc. Second of all, mob ai is really weird. I've watched at least like 8 mobs walk off of cliffs while playing. Creepers were spawning more than passive mobs during the day as well. Idk why. Third of all, at that point, Minecraft had lost it's charm. Hell, I feel like the game was more complete in B1.7.3 then it was in B1.8. The game didn't really feel like a sandbox anymore. I don't know why it didn't feel that way to me but it didn't.
I want to know other peoples opinions on B1.8, as I didn't play for that long
I've finally found out how to reach the Farlands without hacks and holy hell it's so surreal to see after years of fantasizing about it lol (Also technically the farlands is a world gen error)
This took like 3 mining trips
I think (at least in Beta) that beds are amazing. It makes Minecraft more of a sandbox game. You can choose to skip the night if you want to avoid mobs or have better building conditions, or you can go out and admire the night or fight mobs. The choice is yours!
Passive mobs have basically stopped spawning in my B1.7.3 world. Occasionally there will be a pig, but only one instead of the large groups I'd find them in at the start of my world. I've gone exploring for thousands of blocks and still see no sign of life. At my own home, when I'm building things like restaurants and Hotels, I'm building them for nobody. I don't have anyone to play with of course.
I named them after the first number that appeared over their heads when I pressed F4
I built this so I can find my way home when travelling by water (Also I went to a real lighthouse and wanted to build one)
Does anyone know of anything I can use to represent cups or plates in B1.7.3? Flower pots and iron pressure plates don't seem to exist yet
I know it doesn't really add up well but meme maps don't have to make sense
I've been playing Beta 1.7.3 recently, and I love it!!! But I do want to know what people in this subreddit think. I have seen people saying that infdev is the best, with others saying early beta.
My house needs a good looking roof, but stairs don't bend in Beta 1.7.3. Any suggestions?
I live in the house in the mountain with the balcony. I have a wool watch tower as a way to find my home again when not too far away. That weird cobblestone thing is just an observation deck for admiring my home. Finally, the yellow wool building is a farm house, filled with wheat.
This happened after I upgraded my world from beta 1.0 to 1.7.3. My guess is that the game couldn't decide what tree's are supposed to be there, so it put birch, spruce, and oak leaves in the same spot.
I dug into a cliff for protection one night, and it officially became my home from then on. In these photos, you can see my wool watch tower, and artificial lake as parts of my home oasis!
I had more but none of it saved :(
