I bought this zombie kerrii leaf in May 2024. I knew it was never going to be more than a cute green heart and I was fine with that. It was pretty. I was having trouble with it fading and yellowing so I put it in a prop jar and found the sweet spot for sunlight. AND NOW I HAVE A STEM!!!!

I'm in Virginia and these guys/gals are getting ready to spread out. Are they the good guys (honeypot ants) or bad guys(fire ants)? The hill is about 20' from the house out in the open. I find honeypot ants regularly in the flower beds next to the house.
An unknown turtle made a nest in my garden and I have no idea when. I found them yesterday hoeing weeds. They're round ping pong balls so I don't expect an Id. I'm in Southwest Va so there's several it could be. I covered them back up and marked the spot with a rock. Will they be okay? Or is it just wait and see? Should I put some kind of anti-raccoon cover over them to protect them?
