What I learned from applying to 5 CPL networks as a new affiliate — the difference between rejection and approval

Applied to 5 CPA/CPL networks over the past few months with a brand new content site.
Got 2 approvals, 3 rejections.
The rejections taught me more than the approvals.

What got me rejected:

  • Applying with a site that had 3 articles and looked like a placeholder
  • Generic "I promote offers online" in the application form
  • No analytics data to reference

What got me approved:

  • 15+ published articles before applying to networks that actually screen for content
  • A specific, honest description: "I run a CPL education site. Plan to promote email submits to US readers using SEO traffic from informational content."
  • Beginner-friendly networks first (CPAlead), not MyLead or MaxBounty
