A few years ago I overheard a tourist from Europe talking about some epic adventure they just had a few miles north of the house I had lived in for over a decade. I realized then that there is no reason I should be missing out on any of the amazing things in my own back yard. If people are spending thousands of dollars to travel half the globe to see this stuff, I should start living like I'm here on vacation.

So from then on I have slowly ramped up the amount of adventures I go on right here in Arkansas every chance I get. I don't waste a perfect day while I'm on vacation, why would I waste a perfect day here. If I get done with work at 3, I hit a trail, a creek, or start bushwhacking to what might be a waterfall by 4:30.

In years past, knowing the good spots was dependent on how extroverted you were to ask all the people. But now, it's **all** online.

Just make sure you help keep our natural state natural.
