I was wondering, can i use keyboard sustain pedals for the hihat and kick pedals on the nux dp 2000?

Switching to a pedal board
currently, I have my strat plugged in a zoom g5 pedal, plugged into Yamaha mg12x, then into Yamaha hs8 to play at home/jam sessions with my friends. I want to switch from the zoom g5 to an analog pedal board setup, but I do not own an amp. mainly I use the guitar to record, dont really play live (I plan to in the future but I dont really have time now). should I buy an amp, or can I start building my pedalboard without it?
