Did my cherry tree just die on me? It boomed and then all of sudden the whole tree went brown except for a couple branches.

The trunk is pretty torn up from the deer rubbing their antlers on it. I live in the city of

Cleveland but we have so many freaking deer I’m about

To start shooting them in the streets,

There are roving mobs of them like

13-15 deep. The buck that did this is a

10 point buck. It got it once a few years ago bad and I manage to keep them away from it with some iris spring soap but I’m thinking this tree may have just died. I just noticed the second smaller split on the opposite side of the first bad rub and we’ve had some pretty gnarly wind storms lately. I’m wondering if the tree cracked down the middle or something.

Looks like it’s sending up some chutes so can I just cultivate the chutes? What do you guys recommend here? I’m super bummed I’ve had this tree for 6 years Now and

Last year was the first year it produced cherries. I imagine the roots are in pretty decent shape.

How do I help this tree as much as possible? Thanks.

Built this cat tree out of driftwood. What kind of stain/oil should I put on it to finish it?

Driftwood cat tree I built and plan to sell. New to woodworking and want to know what would be the best oil or stain to finish it. My neighbor thinks lint seed oil or something similar.
